Getting Over Social Anxiety, Shyness and Social Phobia...

How To Get Rid Of Social Anxiety
A 25 year old young man named Rohit Sharma, a software engineer by profession, has been suffering from a weird problem for the last 15 years. He wants to go to parties and other social events, he wants to make friends... indeed, he is very, very lonely... but he never goes anywhere because he's very nervous about meeting new people. Too many people will be there and crowds only make things worse for him.

The thought of meeting new people scares him... will he know what to say? Will they stare at him and make him feel even more insignificant? Will they reject him outright? Even if they seem nice, they're sure to notice his frozen look and his inability to fully smile. They'll sense his discomfort and tenseness and they won't like him... there's just no way to win... "I'm always going to be an outcast,"he predicts. He feels to walk, to talk, to eat if someone watches him. He tries to hide himself whenever he sees an old friend, relative, co-worker or anyone he knows comes to talk to him. He spends the night alone, at home, watching television and surfing web again. He feels comfortable at home. In fact, home is the only place he does feel completely comfortable. He hasn't gone anywhere else in the last couple of years. He wants to make friends and but he finds himself unable to do so and it’s dragging him into the dark world of depression.

What you think is happening to him? He is suffering from the world’s most popular psychological disorder called social anxiety/social phobia/shyness. Social anxiety is one of the most common and ignored psychological disorders in our society today. People suffering from social anxiety find themselves unable to face social situations. They think that everyone is watching, staring and judging their every single move and therefore they find themselves unable to relax while conversing or doing anything when other people are around. To avoid this tension they start avoiding social gatherings, parties and outings.

“I used to hang out by the food tables at parties because you don’t have to talk to anybody. If you do then you can talk about the food.”
                                                                                                                       -Jennifer Jason Leigh

You're not alone in this world. Just overcome your shyness
